Riots Around the World

We've all seen the news these days. Everyday there is always some horrible event taking place somewhere in the world. Some people don't even watch the news, but I like to be aware of what is going on around me. Some people would rather be blind when tradgedy strikes, especially if they think that the news has nothing to do with them. For those of you that do watch the news, you have seen the reports of riots breaking out all over the world. There has been an abundance of riots breaking out in every country now a days. I think everybody knows about the riots that are going on in Egypt, because that news story has been aired time and time again. What people don't know is that there has been a report of a riot breaking out in a different country every single day. Eygpt is not the only one being noticed for the riots in the streets. Greece, France, Istanbul, Germany, Russia, Italy, and Japan have reported riots lately. Some people already know why the riots are breaking out and why there is mass chaos in the streets. For those of you that don't know, the reason why this mass chaos is breaking out all over is because the recession is not just affecting America, it is affecting everyone in the world. All of the riots you see that are being announced in the news are because of the skyrocketing unemployment rate. People are losing their jobs, their homes, and their way of life everyday because of this recession. Something must be done to take serious action against the deep and serious consequences of the recession. This problem has not only caused loss of jobs but many other problems have been on the rise since the start of this recession. The crime rate has increased significantly here in the U.S. and in every country in the world and the stock market has been dropping at an alarming speed. There has been numerous robberies and theft reports everywhere. People all over the world are also rioting because of food costs. The price of food has increased and people don't have the money to pay to feed their families. Millions of riots have broken out in poor countries and right here in America because of the lack of food. Millions of people are worried about the outcome of thier lives in these harsh times. Even right here in the U.S. there have been reports of riots. There are "cuts" being made in Wisconsin to the Teacher's Union and the results of this are being displayed everywhere. The people that the "cuts" effect are voicing their opinion on the matter by standing together and protesting. The more this problem continues without a solution, the worse the economy is going to get. Think about it. Would you ever see yourself protesting in the street for anything? I bet you would if you and your family's life depended upon it. If it was your last chance to get justice for what had happened to your life then I bet you would be out there with the millions of people who are fighting for their way of life. I'm sure the people who are involved in the many riots that are happening around the world didn't ever think that they would be in that position. People are confused and worried about the recession's outcome and they have a right to be. Sometimes people will do extremely crazy things when their way of life is threatend. I also believe that we are going to have to endure a few tough times in our lives. I think that things will get worse before they get better. We may have to scarifice a few things with these "cuts" that the government is having to make. We voted for the people that lead our country and so we should reach out and trust them, help them in any way possible, because the outcome of giving up is far worse than that of fighting to solve this crisis. There will be sacrifices made in order to solve the recession problem and people will continue to disagree with the choices made to fix this, but if the problem isn't solved then it could end us all.

Documents detail dead girl's troubled life

I didn't have anything interesting in mind to blog about so I went searching for a good story to share. An interesting story is exactly what I found when I came across this entry. This story left me with a lot of questions and thoughts on this subject.
According to this article, a young, dead girl was found in the back of her foster dad's pesticide truck. The girl, Nubia Doctor, was found in the back of the pesticide truck, wrapped in plastic and doused with a toxic chemical. Nubia's twin brother, Victor, was also found in the front seat of the truck, critically injured after authorities said his adoptive father poured a chemical on him. The chilren's biological mother and father had problems of drug abuse. The children lived with their biological mother from the time they were born in 2000 until they were about four years old. Nubia was born with both male and female parts and required medical attention. The biological mom hated Nubia for this problem and would yell at her and scream that she hated her. They were also homeless for the first year of their lives. The twins were removed from their biological mother's home to their biological father's home. Their father had a problem with drug abuse also and was arrested in 2004 for sexually molesting Nubia. The children were then placed in foster care and a few months later, they went to stay with foster parent's Jorge and Carmen Barahona. Carmen Barahona never took Nubia to her doctor's appointments and just sends her on a medical bus, a nurse noted. In 2006, Nubia had 17 absences from school in a three-month period and eventually became home schooled. In 2007, a teacher noted that Nubia smelled bad and was hoarding food in her back pack. The teacher also noted that Nubia was always hungry and ate a lot at school and that she never talked. Investigators talked to the Barahonas, a speech therapist and the twins — everything seemed OK, according to the documents. The Barahonas said one of the side effects of Nubia's medical condition was a strong odor. Florida's Children First Executive Director, Christina Spudeas, asked why "cries to the Florida Abuse Hotline were dismissed and not competently, completely and urgently investigated before the kids met their tragic fates."

This is just a summary of the story. To read the full story just click on the link above that says, "article". I don't understand how this could have happened when DFS was completely involved with these two children! This really boggles my mind! All the warning signs are there! I understand that the children had already come from a damaged home and had pending problems, but DFS should have at least had a clue to look into this matter. If a girl that needs a lot of medical attention is missing her doctor appointments and she is starving all the time, scared, and not speaking to anyone, I think that it might be time to look into the matter and see why she is doing all that stuff. I mean, come on people, that is not normal, even for a damaged little girl. I think this story is just sick. How can somebody sit by and see that the little girl is suffering and not do anything about it. This is the result of carelessness. Somebody should have done something, especially DFS! Why would they ignore the hotline calls about the concern for these children? This story really leaves me speechless and left me with so many questions. Why would DFS ignore the warning signs that were radiating from these two children? Is that movie, Case 39, for real? Was the little girl evil or something? I mean, who does that? Who just ignores that kind of ovious suffering? I just can't understand this situation. If DFS was involved then it never should have gotten this far. Those people shouldn't have even been foster parents! Don't they check these people out before they let them adopt children? Anyway, I think there should be some serious imvestigating on this story, because something is not adding up. This one might take a while for the feds to crack. This crime should not go unpunished. I think that DCF should release the files of the twins. What is DCF hiding? I really don't think that "Case 39" is a true story, but DCF is treating this case like the parents were treating their problem in the movie. The parents in the movie were trying to keep it quiet and get rid of the girl. The case worker in the movie took her from the parents and she eventually found out that the girl was evil, thereby putting the caseworker in the girl's parent's original situation. Weird? I don't think that the girl in this story has evil satanic powers, but there is oviously some reason why these children met this fate and now everyone is trying to keep it quiet. In the "release the files" link above, it says that the Barahonas had two other fost children that were living with them at the same time the twins were. Why would they want to do this to those twins and not the other children in the home? This story is just not adding up to me. I'm very anxious to know what conclusion the investigators come up with on this one.

Spoil The Child

I have the hardest time trying not to spoil my daughter. I know that eventually she is going to grow up and I will eventually have to switch to telling her "No", but she is just so freaking cute! My daughter, Macy, is 7 months old and it still amazes me how she makes me feel. I'm sure any mother knows what I am talking about, you can't deny your children. I spoil the crap out of Macy! I think she knows it to. She is so smart and observant. I got my taxes back the other day and went to go buy her new clothes because she is growing so fast that she has already grown out of her 12 month clothes that she got for christmas. I spent a BUNCH of money on her. She is my only child, which also makes her my first, so I can't help but spoil her. She loves me to death. She will raise her arms and look at me with a pitiful look so that I will pick her up. It always works on me! I can't help it! Everytime she gives me that look I just melt. Anyway, I brought all the stuff I bought for her home and pulled everything out of the bags and showed them to her. I said, "Look what mommy got you!" and her face just lit up and she squealed with delight! I give her attention all the time. My poor husband is like, "Where is my lovin' at?". He spoils Macy to. Macy loves to play with Brian and in return Brian thinks it's so cute so he plays with her all the time. She is very loved if you haven't figured that out by now. This is just the half of my story. This blog is really about the toy box that I specially ordered for her. I had a nice room all to myself until my siblings were born. I was spoiled until two years later when my sister came into this world. No, I don't hate my siblings, I love them. Since I had Macy, I couldn't decide if I wanted to get my tubes tied or if I wanted to have another child someday so I got this birth control called the Implanon. It is a little rod that they insert into your arm and it doesn't come out for three years. I figured that was a good choice because three years should be plenty of time to decide if I want another baby. I don't want another baby right now though. I'm a very busy lady as it is and I want to give Macy some time to enjoy being the only child while she is still young. I want to spoil her a little bit 'cause she is my first and only baby. I was told a long time ago that I probably wouldn't be able to have children because I have Crohn's Disease, but Macy came out very healthy. I didn't have one problem with her when I was pregnant and the Pediatrician says she is very healthy and developing perfectly. I was put on high risk though while I was pregnant so that way they could monitor me and make sure nothing did go wrong, so, yea, I'm gonna love and spoil Macy for a long while. Anyway, back to the bedroom conversation, I have took it upon myself to personalize and beautify my daughter's room. I've done a really good job, if I do say so myself! Her room is entirely covered in pink and purple butterflies and flowers. I bought a lot of the stuff like her lamp, night light, wall decorations, blankets, cushions, and rugs from the Sugar Plum collection by CoCaLo at Babies R' Us. Anyway, I found a wooden bench toy box that matched the collection and purchased it. I had to order it online because it wasn't sold in stores. The toy box finally came in on Friday and I made my husband, Brian, put the toy box together. I sat my daughter on my lap and let her watch Brian put the toy box together. I pointed and said, "Look what mommy got you! Something to put your toys in! Isn't it pretty?" She just smiled and squealed with delight! I was so happy and the toy box was cute! I am going to protect that thing with my life and maybe someday she can give it to her daughter. That freakin' thing cost me $200.00! It was all worth it though whenever Brian got it all put together and I sat her on top of it. She just loved it! She was giggling and kicking her feet with a big grin on her face while she was sitting on top of it! I'm such a sucker for that little grin of hers! Well, here are some pictures of my daughter and her toy box. I wonder if I'm crazy for spending that amount of cash on that toy box for her matching room.

A Wild Hair

I had been thinking about doing something different to my hair for a while. I have always put about one or two colors into my hair everytime I get it done. Usually, I keep it normal looking and go for some brown and blonde highlights. I've put a carmel color highlight into my hair a few times before, but that is about as crazy as it gets for me. I decided that it was time for a change. I wanted something very different from what I normally get. I didn't want to dye it blue or anything like that, but I did want to change it dramatically. I went online and went straaight to Google. I looked up different hair coloring jobs for my length of hair and found a few that I liked. I saved those and went on with my search for the perfect look. I finally found a really good picture of what I wanted. I have a friend that does my hair, her name is Michelle. Michelle works part time with me at Dairy Queen and the other part time at her little hair booth at one of our local tanning and fitness places. Anyway, I told Michelle about a month ago that I wanted my hair colored again and that I wanted it to look a little different this time. I showed her the picture that I had saved and she said she could do it, but she would have to order the colors first and then she would let me know when she could do my hair. The next week I asked Michelle if she had gotten my colors yet and she said, "Oops! I forgot to order them! I will order them today and they should be here by next week." I told her that was fine. The next week, it snowed! We got almost 2 feet of snow that week! Nobody went over and plowed the parking lot were Michelle does hair so she didn't go in to work that week. My husband and I were tired of being stuck in the house 'cause of the snow. They had cleared the roads off pretty good so we decided to go out that Saturday, due to cabin fever. While my husband and I were making plans on where we were going to go that night I realized that I was in dire need of a hair cut and so was Brian. I tried calling Michelle to see if she could cut my hair, but she never answered me. I then called around to a few other places so I could get my hair cut and not look like crap when we went out that night. Nobody was open that day except for Royal Reflections, which is the worst place in the world to go to, and they were all booked up for the day. I decided to take Brian to Mayberry's Barber shop, up on the square, to get his hair cut. When we got there, Bryce started giving Brian his usual hair cut and I asked old man Mayberry, who is the oldest barber there and the owner of the shop, if he could cut my hair and give me a lot more layers without shortening it to much. I told him just to cut off the bad ends. He said, "Yea, I can do that. I know how to cut a woman's hair. I cut women's hair all the time." So I decided to let him cut my hair. Old man Mayberry has been cutting hair since before I was a baby, so I figured he couldn't screw it up to bad. After he was done cutting my hair, I stood up and looked in the mirror and I was amazed at the job he did! It looked awesome! It looked WAY better than what Michelle usually does to it and I had a bunch more layers! I think I might continue to let the old man cut my hair from now on! I asked if he did colors and he said, "No, only cuts." That is fine with me though because I knew the color job that I had picked out was going to be hard to do. Brian and I went out that night and I got a TON of compliments on my hair cut. When I told my friends who cut my hair, they were shocked at what a good job old man Mayberry did. Who knows, maybe they will start going to Mayberry's for their hair cuts! The next week it snowed some more, thankfully not very much but we got about a half a foot. Michelle had to stay home with her kids that week, because they didn't have to go to school, because they let all the kids have a few more snow days. I tried calling Michelle and she never answered me back until the end of the week, but by then I had already called somebody else to do my hair, because I had pictures scheduled for this Saturday and I had to get my color done before the pictures. Michelle already knew all of this and still didn't even bother to get a hold of me until late last week when I had been calling her and texting her for about 2 weeks now! Anyway, I called and scheduled an appointment with somebody else, because I knew that if I waited to long and if Michelle never called me back then I would be screwed on finding somebody that could do my color on such a short notice. I called this well-known salon stylist at the Backstreet Salon, her name is Charity and she used to do my hair as a kid, Charity is known for her wonderful coloring jobs. She said she was all booked up, but her friend Angel could do my colors on Saturday morning, a week before my pictures. I know who Angel is and she does great colors too so I agreed to let Angel do my hair. On Saturday morning, I went into the salon and showed Angel my picture that I wanted my hair to look like and she helped me pick out the right colors to go into my hair. After we finally got my think head of hair foiled and she put me under the dryer, I was starting to get anxious. She pulled me out from under the dryer and started pulling the foil out of my hair, I was a little speechless because it looked weird being wet. After Angel rinsed the chemicals out and dryed my hair and straightened it, which really wasn't needed because my hair is straight as a string and I don't even own a straightener because I don't need one, it looked beautiful! She put a lot more red in it that what I wanted, but I loved it! I was shocked at first because I had never done anything this dramatic to my hair before, but after I got past the shock I really loved it. Angel was worried, because of the shocked expression on my face, but I assured her that I loved it. She said if I decided that I wasn't satisfied with it then I could call her and she would put more blonde in it or fix it however I wanted. I don't think I want her to fix it though, because all my friends think it looks awesome. My husband thinks it's hot! Michelle finally got a hold of me that night and said that she could do my hair on Saturday next week, which is the morning that I have to get pictures taken. I text her back and explained to her that I already got my hair done because I couldn't get an answer from her and that my pictures were on that Saturday. She never replied back after that so I hope that I didn't make her mad. I really like Michelle, she is a good friend and I hope that I didn't make her angry with me because I didn't let her do my hair, since I asked her to do it originally. If she already ordered my colors then maybe she can save them and do my hair the next time I need it done. Anyway, here is a picture of what my hair looks like now.

Murder At The Border

Sorry it took me a little while before I decided on this blog. I was trying to decide what to blog about. I went out Saturday night with my husband and some friends. I have a friend who is mexican. He is the general manager of the El Charro's here in Lamar, MO. He was telling me about a decision he was going to have to make. He said that he and his dad live here in the U.S.A. and the rest of his family live in Mexico. No he is not an illegal immigrant. Anyway, he said that his mother is very ill and that he usually calls to check on her once a week. He said that he has been calling several times a week now because he has spoken to his brothers over in Mexico and they told him that his mothers health has really gotten worse. Antonio is trying to decide if he should go down there and see her or to just wait a little while longer. He is worried that if he doesn't go now, then his mother will die before he gets to see her one last time. He says he would go, but the reason he is worried about traveling is because of the problems going on at the border. Antonio has a wife and a 2 year old daughter. If he were to go to Mexico he would have to bring them with him. He is worried about all the murders happening at the border, especially because he will have his 2 year old with him when he crosses. I asked Antonio why his mother didn't just come to America with him and his dad. He said that he tried to get his mom to come with them, but she and the rest of their family refused to leave because that is what they call "home". I understood right away what he meant: "Home is where the heart is". I then asked Antonio why he decided to move here. He said that he was tired of seeing the pain and suffering that it took for his family to survive there. He said the opportunities and the way they are treated are much better in America than in Mexico. He said he would never make his mother leave a place where she wanted to be, so he left and sends them money and helps them any way he can when he can help them. He explained to me that this was his home and Mexico was his mother's home. I feel sorry for Antonio, because even though I know he badly wants to see his mother, I know that he also needs to protect his daughter and wife. A lot of the murders on the border are about women. Women are murdered daily at the border. Another big problem and main factor in the murders are the gang problems. The death rate at the border is expected to be doubled this year as opposed to last year's murder rate. The gang problems and murders are on the rise this year. The murders are starting to affect everyday innocent bystanders. There were two innocent boys that were murdered just in this last week while they were at a car dealership.  I understand Antonio's dilemma. In my opinion, I don't think he should risk taking his family there. I am scared to death just thinking about it. I'm sure his worries on the matter are way worse than mine. I understand that nobody really likes the fact that these illegal immigrants come over here illegally and take our jobs and other privaliges, but I chose to blog about this matter because I think that everyone needs to understand the horrors that these people are trying to escape from. I do believe that they need to come over here in a legal way, but Antonio explained to me that it isn't so easy for some as it is for others. I feel sorry for the horrors that those people have to face over there. I understand why they want to come here, because it's better here than over there. I also believe that the law is the law though. We all have to obey it no matter the circumstances. It sucks and its a cold cruel world sometimes, but my father always told me that what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. God has a plan for everyone. We may not like the plan he gives us, but he has a plan for everyone for a reason. I don't think it's right to question God's motives, no matter how unfair life seems sometimes. I hope that Antonio figures out the right choice for him and his family. I really believe its up to him, and only him, to decide what is the right decision to do about his family situation. I just hope that if he decides to go to Mexico, that no harm comes to him and his family on his trip. I hope he and his family arrive home safe.

Some People Don't Deserve To Be Parents

I am putting a personal spin on this blog. I wanted to share a story about a cousin of mine. My cousin, Dusty, is 19 years old and she is set on letting her life turn out like her mother's. When Dusty was a young girl, she was taken away from her mother and had to go live with her grandma. Her mother, Angie, had a really bad drug problem. She had done meth all her life and so that is why Dusty has lived with grandma all of her life. Angie died a few years in a car accident when her and her "meth dealer" boyfriend hit another car and died instantly. Although Dusty had lived with grandma all her life, Angie was still a part of her life. Angie would come see her and attend her birthday parties up until the day she died. Since Dusty had been faced with this life, everyone has always tried to make it easy for her. In the last few years, Dusty has found out who her real dad is. His name is James Nichols, he is one of Lamar, MO's well known lawyers. Dusty wanted to go live with him for a while to see what it would be like. James and his wife would take Dusty to the mall and get her expensive name brand clothes and just about anything else she wanted. It still wasn't enough for Dusty. She ran away from home with her boyfriend at the time. The Kansas City police picked her up alongside the highway and took her into the station and called her dad. James went and picked her up and took her home. I know James, he is a very soft spoken person and I don't believe that he yelled at her. I imagine he did try to have a talk with her about the situation, but it seems that Dusty didn't want to listen. Dusty just does as she pleases. After she ran away from James's for the second time, grandma made her come back and live with her. Since then, Dusty had gotten it in her head that she wanted to have a baby, drop out of school, and find a man to marry and have the "perfect little life". This is Dusty's past history. The reason I have labeled this blog "Some People Don't Deserve To Be Parents" is because Dusty has achieved her plan, but in the most horrible way possible. Dusty got her wish and had a baby boy about a month and a half ago. She married this boy that is her age,19, and he is a very discusting person. I remember this kid in high school. I think I was a senior when he was a freshman. He was in my band class and he would stuff pizza, from lunchtime in the school cafeteria, into his backpack and would eat it three weeks later! He doesn't take a bath either. His name is Steven. Anyway, Dusty is married to Steven and they are the parents of the baby boy. My mom got Dusty a job out at the dog kennel that she works at, because Dusty was having trouble paying her bills and Steven doesn't have a job. Dusty quit the kennel after working there for only a week! The reason she quit was because Steven doesn't want her up there. He is very controlling and lies to her all the time. He didn't want her up there working because there is another boy that works up there and Steven doesn't want Dusty around him. This boy doesn't even know Dusty and has never even bothered her or anything. While Dusty was working at the kennel, she developed a tooth ache and the owner of the kennel is married to a dentist, so she had her husband take a look at Dusty's teeth. The owner's husband said that the tooth was infected and that he was going to give her some anti-biotics and when she was out of them she needed to come back and see him to get the tooth pulled out or she was going to have worse problems. After Steven convinced her to quit the job at the kennel, he also convinced her not to go back to the dentist because he told her that if she got that tooth taken out then she would die. He told Dusty that it would kill her if the dentist took the tooth out. Dusty is very stupid so, of course, she believed Steven. Anyway, while she was at work, for that one whole week, Steven would be at home with the infant. Whenever the baby cries, Steven screams at it to shut-up. While Dusty was at work, Steven would set the baby in the baby swing that they have and would leave the baby there until Dusty came home. He wouldn't feed him or change his diaper. He would just leave him in the swing all day and scream at him to shut-up.When Dusty would get home, the baby would be starving and have a huge overflowing dirty diaper. When Dusty picks him up because he is crying, Steven will get jealous and yank him out of Dusty's arms and put him back in the swing. When my mom told me all of this I just burst into tears. That poor baby! I could never ever do that to my daughter! Actually, my daughter is a bit on the spoiled side because we hold her so much! It just made me very sad and angry to hear that Steven was doing that to his own son and that Dusty would sit by and allow it. My mom asked Dusty why she doesn't just leave Steven and she said "because I'm with him for better or for worse". I am not the kind of person that would ever want to seperate a child from it's parents, but I don't think that Dusty and Steven deserve to have that baby. Where the hell is Dusty's motherly instincts? If somebody ever did anything to Macy, I would claw their face off like a mother bear! That poor little thing can't fend for itself! That's how a baby tells you that it needs something, by crying! They can't talk and tell you what they need and they sure as hell can't get it themselves! That's what the parents are for! I think that baby needs to be taken away from that awful place and placed somewhere where it will have the love and attention it needs and deserves! I think that Dusty needs to be shown what "tough love" is, because all her life everybody has just given her what she wants and has tried to make it easy on her, but I think that that is the prime reason as to why she has this false image of what real life is like. Life is not something that is easy and just gets handed to you on a platter. You have to work at it and make it into something. I think that Dusty thought it would all be a piece of cake and that everything would be perfect and be handed to her on that same platter. I honestly think that somebody needs to get in her face and let her know how it really is. Somebody needs to show her some tough "love". Anyway, Dusty's grandma owns the house across the street from her, grandma's, house so grandma is going to let Dusty move in over there so that she, grandma, can go over there and make sure they aren't mistreating the baby. Mom promised me that grandma and Aunt Lisa wouldn't let her and Steven mistreat that baby or they would see to it that something was done about it. I hope, for that baby's sake, that they straighten Dusty and Steven out. I don't know much about Dusty's grandma, but I do know my Aunt Lisa, and she can be a mean bitch, pardon my laanguauge, when it comes to situations like this. I know my Aunt Lisa will make sure that the baby is taken care of, even if she has to take him home with her! I just wanted to share this story and see what kind of comments or advice I get on the matter. I don't think they deserve to have that baby and that is my opinion. I just hope that somebody lets Dusty know that if that baby starves to death, then she and Steven are going to jail for murder. I hope to God that it doesn't come to that though. My Aunt would never let it get that bad. She would take the baby before it got that bad. I hope Dusty's tooth is really hurting her now though! My mom said she ran out of anit-biotics and still hasn't gotten the tooth taken out, all because of what Steven told her! If she doesn't get that tooth taken out, it will get worse and then she will die from it! She has an absses over the tooth and if it bursts open and she swallows that puss then it will kill her. The puss that is in that absses is a poison and, if swallowed, will kill you. I got that information from a dentist and I know it's the truth. She better wise up, because her "perfect little life" is fixing to come to a close!
