Mother Nature's Anger
It seems that when things get bad, they always get worse. I've have a friend that says, "Bad things always happen in three's". I belive that must be true, but it seems to be happening a lot lately. As if this recession isn't enough to create havoc and devestation on this earth, Mother Nature seems to be getting her hands dirty to. We already have to worry about the stock market crashing and the housing market and banks going under. Busnisess are going under everyday and people are losing their jobs. Prices are going up on everything and nobody can afford to pay their bills. Everybody in everypart of the world is at war or fighting in a war. People are rioting and getting out of control. The crime rate is rising and people are very worried about the general outcome of the life they live in this world today. On top of all this, Mother Nature has stepped in and made everything ten times worse than what it already is. I'm not sure if it's God that is angry at the world or if it really is just Mother Nature letting off some steam, but the disaster's around the world are really hitting everyone hard and in every season too. In summer the weather has been extremely hot. In some parts of the world it caused horrible heat wave problems. In spring there is the rain and tornadoes and thunderstorms. Some parts of the world have big flooding situations. In winter there has been so many snow storms that many people that used to not even get snow have accepted that it will snow in the winter season. With all this crazy weatherngoing on everywhere it just doesn't seem that it couldn't get any worse, but Mother Nature has pushed it to a whole new level. I'm sure by now that everybody has heard, seen, or read about the natural disaster that happened in Japan. Japan is a very small continent but it is very overpopulated with billions of people. Japan has the 3rd largest population group in the world. This disaster has taken out almost half of Japan. If you don't think that isn't gonna have a huge impact on the world then you are dead wrong. Japan was struck by an earthquake that was a 9.0 on the richter scale and then they were immediately engulfed in a huge tsunami following the earthquake. Those two disasters alone have killed millions of people. Now that all that has happened the aftermath of these two disasters are set on finishing the job. There are tons of aftershocks everyday. An aftershock is a mini-quake, but can be scary because it could be the warning sign of another big earthquake on the way. There could be several of these mini-quakes before they turn into something destructive. Everyone in Japan is cowering over any and all of the aftershocks they are feeling everyday. The earthquake and tsunami have also created thousands of fires that are out of control and all of these problems are now effecting the nuclear plants in Japan. There have been several explosions at the plants and many people are being warned to get somewhere safe indoors in order to get away from radiation posioning. The radiation leakage is spreading to a wider range everyday and Japan is asking for more help from other countries to help cool the reactors so the problem doesn't get worse. This Japan disaster has been titled as "a scene from hell, absolutely nightmarish". The earthquake alone has been deamed the 4th most powerful earthquake in the world since the 1900's. This disaster is estimated to cost about $180 billion dollars to repair, making it the 3rd worst economic crisis in the world. I was very sad when the earthquake in Haiti happened and they are still helping to rebuild the disaster effects over there, but this disaster in Japan takes the cake. No matter what anybody says we Americans rely on Japan for a TON of resources. Japan is an ally of ours and we are already having recession problems of our own right here in America and now half of Japan has gone under. It is going to take months just to tally up the death toll and years of rebuilding to get this country back on it's feet. This is not just a little piece of Japan that has gone under, it's HALF the country! That is a big piece of an economy that needs repairing. Keep in mind though, that we need Japan. We rely on them. It's like a dominoes effect. If they go down, then other countries maybe brought down with it. We are all connected whether we like it or not. In the last 4 days alone, the stock market has seen devastating numbers. Stocks have fallen dramatically because of what is happening to Japan. The stock market in Japan has been closed down due to the disaster's effects. Their stocks are "free falling" because of this disaster and, if you pay close attention, our stock market is slowly starting to reap the effects of the Japan disaster too. This crisis in Japan is a very critical time for them and I'm not even sure that they can even really fully recover from it. Of course we can rebuild buildings and put out the fires. Things can be fixed, but the lives lost and the damage that is left behind for these people is very dramatic. Do not be fooled by thinking that just because Japan is on the other side of the world that this will not effect you because it will. This is a major disaster that the world wasn't prepared for and it will effect everyone in the world. What if all these devastating things that have been happening in the last few years are the signal that the end is near? It's such a big thing to even imagine that our existence could be wiped away. I myself am having a hard time believing that it could happen and I'm not even sure if I want to believe something like that, but all those parinoid people that believe in things like the "End of Days","The Mayan Calander", and " 2012" may have a couple of good argument points. My opinion is that only God can decide our fate and if he chooses to end the world then that is his plan and there is nothing that we can do about it but to accept our fate. There are things in this world that are bigger than us humans and there are things that we can't stop. Hopefully nothing like 2012 will ever happen though, because it's just to much to think about.

Holly,
ReplyDeleteI understand where all of your concern comes from with all of the things that are going on in our world today. Here lately within the last 6 months or so I have honestly heard more talk about weather or not the world is to come to an end in the near future or not. I don't know if you read the Bible or are of any religious faith at all but...
Matthew 6:26-2 says...
"Look at the birds in the sky! They don't plant or harvest. They don't even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren't you worth more than birds? Can worry make you live longer? Why worry about clothes? Look how the wild flowers grow. They don't work hard to make their clothe"
I know that is not necessarily what you were talking about but this scripture is not just talking about food and clothes. Will worrying about all of the things that are going on around us really help us in the long run?
Just something to think about.
Wow, all of those things happening in Japan sound absolutely horrible! I believe that God will end the world when he wants to, regardless of any Mayan calendar theory.
ReplyDeleteI have pondered this myself and worried. I just try and remind myself that worry is to not trust God. The events in Japan have also made me really think, what if that would happen in the states?, would we be in the same position? Then again, I have to remind myself, trust God and live your life! Just keep repeating it to yourself over and over and live your life.
ReplyDeleteI believe what they say about bad things happening in threes. Numbers seem to have a strong pull on how the world works. Numerology is what it is called. It is a pretty simple idea.
ReplyDeleteI'm a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. We may not understand at the time why it happened, but in time, we will. I also believe that when God is ready to take us, he will. The only thing we can do is be prepared, love our family and live life to the fullest.
ReplyDeleteThese are some terrible and scary things happening in the world today. It may not seem fair, but you are right, we have to remember that God has a plan for everything, and while it may seem terrible now, it is important to remember God isn't out to get us, it's just all apart of the plan. All we can do is pray for the people who are being effected by these disasters.
ReplyDeletevery interesting topic! I loved reading your blog. It is crazy what is happening to the world. People don't really notice things until you start adding up everything that has happened. Although, I believe God had a plan for each of us and the world itself. He obvious has a plan, though, we may not understand it. In the meantime, it is hard to ignore all the terrible things happening, especially in Japan. All we have to do is trust in Him and all will be fine:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a good blog! I find myself worrying about all the same things. It does seem like there is so many bad things happening with the economy and all the disasters in the world. It is hard to swallow sometimes. I also just trust in God and pray when I start to worry. I pray for all the people that have been effected.
ReplyDeleteI thought that I was the only one that noticed all of these things happening. Seem like we start getting back on track and bam here is another thing to knock us back down to the bottom and have to start over again I wish all of these thing would just end and have world peace.
ReplyDeleteGOOD BLOG HOLLY. I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU IN THAT THIS UNFORTUNATE DISASTER WILL DEFINITELY AFFECT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US.
